I walked somewhere around 35 feet into the woods. I then noticed a black figure off to my right in the distance around 40 feet. The figure didn't move and looked to be "watching" me. I bent down, looked side-to-side and stood back up trying to get a better view of it. I then took a picture.
Later, I moved back to a clearing some 25 feet from my left to try and get a better look. When i turned back; the creature was "gone". I then moved back to my original position only to find that the being was not there either or any evidence to support what I had seen moments earlier. I returned to my house to download the picture and see if anything was on my camera.
The next day, Feb. 13th, my wife and I returned to the site once more while the snow was melting and observed scrape-marks going off into a ravinous area behind where the creature had stood.

Photos:

My intentions are to launch a radio show that will be centered around the subject of bigfoot mysteries both old and contemporary theories. Additionally, we'll have other discussions that will delve into the subjects of ufology, lake monsters, lizard men, 2012 Prophecy and much more.
One of the most interesting features is that we'll be able to take in up to 10 callers per show which will allow us all to gain insights on what exactly is going on in the world of the paranormal and strange. Initially, the show will last one hour. As our show gains in popularity, we'll increase the time-span.

***

*Some of our lined up guests for the first month will be:*

Ms. Janice Carter
(co-author of 50 Years With Bigfoot: Tennessee Chronicles of Co-Existence)

Mr. Igor Burtsev
(Mr. Burtsev is one of the original Russian bigfoot hominologists who studied The Patterson-Gimlin Film of 1967)

For instance, a few months back I spoke of a post on this blog that described me following a set of fresh tracks into the middle of an alfalfa field only to have them stop at mid-way of the opening. To this very day I still scratch my head over this occurence. It doesn't make any sense right?
Today I had a conversation with a friend. She also feeds bigfoot creatures at regular intervals especially in the hard cold of the south we've been facing as of late. She along with others keep up with a wide array of habituation scenarios that are occuring all over the world and not just in the United States.
She relayed a story with me this evening that I find intriguing, and it also made me think of my own similar experience some months back. Anyway, our friend "Ted"(real name withheld for obvious reasons) placed a plastic baggy full of beef liver onto a tree limb over this past weekend in hopes of the bigfoot taking it for nutrient rich vitamins. Snow occured all weekend in this particular area of the country and lo and behold the "baggy full of liver" was taken during the night assumably.
Was makes this situation so neat and interesting is that "no footprints" led up to the liver. In fact, the liver was taken from the bag that was suspended by rope, carefully re-folded and the chord bound neatly around the limb. Tell me, what animals other than humans do this? How do they do it? What techniques do they use? Events such as these are what absolutely baffle me about our bigfoot people.

Chatroom Deleted...NEW Message Board Added...

Hello Readers,

We've added a new message forum titled "ChattaWeb™". This will be a controversial yet beneficial tool for both members and guests. It takes just a few minutes to sign up and it is something that we can participate in daily rather than weekly on the old chat-room. Plus it is more convenient and one does not have to "be in a certain place at a certain time". Simply go to the link located to the left of this page to participate.

Born on April 14th, 1935, in Zofingen, Switzerland, Erich von Däniken was educated at the College St-Michel in Fribourg, where already as a student he occupied his time with the study of the ancient holy writings. While managing director of a Swiss 5-Star Hotel, he wrote his first book, Chariots of the Gods, which was an immediate bestseller in the United States, Germany, and later in 38 other countries.

***

In the United States, Erich von Däniken won instant fame as a result of the television special "In Search of Ancient Astronauts," based upon his first book. In 1993, the German television station SAT-1 started a twenty-five part TV series with and by Erich von Däniken, entitled "Auf den Spuren der All-Mächtigen" (Pathways of the Gods). In 1996, the American TV company ABC/Kane produced a one-hour special, filmed all over the world, entitled Chariots of the Gods - The Mysteries Continue. This film was broadcast on the ABC network on September 26th 1996. In 1996/97 ABC/Kane produced another documentary with Erich von Däniken (seen on the Discovery Channel). In Germany, the biggest TV network, RTL, showed the film on November 26th, 1996. 7,7 million viewers in Germany alone watched the program. Today, Erich von Däniken continues his filming with ABC and RTL.

Erich von Däniken's latest book just translated and now published is The Gods Were Astronauts: Evidence of the True Identities of the Old 'Gods". In this book Erich von Däniken investigates a mystery that has fascinated humankind for millennia: who, or what, were the Gods described in ancient stories? Von Däniken has exhaustively researched and analyzed the great world religions, their myths and belief structures, in an effort to find an answer to this question. His extraordinary conclusion? The Gods were not metaphysical beings born of humanity's overactive imagination, but extraterrestrials who left traces of their presence everywhere on Earth. An overview on all publications of Erich von Däniken including a link to the Swiss Natrial Library collecting all translation is listed on the bibliography page.

***

Erich von Däniken's publications are available from legendarytimesbooks.com, the online bookstore of his international research association A.A.S. R.A. / legendarytimes.com.

Erich von Däniken's books have been translated into 32 languages, and have sold 63 million copies worldwide. From his books two full-length documentary films have been produced: Chariots of the Gods and Messages of the Gods. Of the more than 3,000 lectures which Erich von Däniken has given in 25 countries, over 500 were presented at universities. Fluent in four languages, Erich von Däniken is an avid researcher and a compulsive traveller, averaging 100'000 miles each year to remote spots of the Earth. This enables him to closely examine the phenomena about which he writes.

Erich von Däniken is a member of the Swiss writers association, the German writers association, and the International PEN-Club. He was awarded with an Honorary Doctorate degree by the "La Universidad Boliviana" ("Gral. Jose Ballivian, Doctor Honoris Causa: Trinidad, 12 de febrero de 1975"). [Image of Honorary Doctorate: front side and (with confirmations) back side.] He received the "Huesped Illustre" award from the cities of Ica and Nazca in Peru. In Brasil he received the "Lourenço Filho" award in Gold and Platin, and in Germany he was awarded with the "Order of Gordon Bleu du Saint Esprit" (together with the German astronaut Ulf Merbold).
Today, Erich von Däniken lives in the small mountain-village of Beatenberg in Switzerland (40 miles from Berne, above the city of Interlaken). In 2003 the "Mysteries of the World Theme Park", the Mystery Park, initialized by Erich von Däniken opened in Interlaken, Switzerland. A platform for the presentation and research of the mysteries of the world, including Paleo-SETI, the so called Ancient Astronaut Theory. Unfortunately the theme park closed November 19th 2006.

And, airing about Summer 2003 - the new TV series: Based on Erich von Däniken's best-selling books, "Chariots of the Gods" is a 22 one hour sci-fi adventure series that combines the suspenseful investigative techniques of the hit show CSI, melds it with the exotic adventures of Alias, and then throws in a dash of Tomb Raider for good measure. The series combines the style and intrigue of the popular forensic investigation and mysterious place/raranormal documentary programs.

In 1998, Erich von Däniken co-founded the Archaeology, Astronautics and SETI Research Association , A.A.S. R.A. which publishes the English journal Legendary Times™ reporting about the latest research in the Paleo-SETI field.

Erich von Däniken has been married to Elisabeth Skaja since 1960. He has one daughter, Cornelia (born 1963), and two grandchildren. Von Däniken is a hobby-chef and a lover of Bordeaux wines.

Maine Bigfoot Video - January 01, 2010

<dc:subject>Maine</dc:subject>

Eve, The Proportionately Correct Perfect Human Being....

Over the last few weeks, I have seen many television episodes depicting a VERY tall super model. Amazingly (without being sexist), she is the largest, tallest super model I have ever seen. Scientists say that she is anatomically correct and proportionate in size to that of regular 5'-2"-5'-5" models. She is a testament to how humans may have once looked.
Fortunately for me as well as many others; I have actually heard them speak. My recollections were that of a garbled jibberish between one or more of the beings. I have come to refer this form of communication as "Samurai Jibberish". The reason being is because to me, it sounds as if one is listening to two Asiatic peoples communicating. Very fast and uninterpretable.

One can only imagine where their language skills originated. Perhaps initially, they had their own set of vocabulary that was later enhanced or added upon by human interaction. As a citizen of the United States (The Great Melting Pot), we find that our English language mainly originated in Europe from the Latin Antiqua (or the "Old Latin"; some 70% of it). However, over the decades and centuries, we've adopted words (or verbiage) from other cultures that came to this land in search of a better life or financial gain whatever it may be. For example the word "taco" had no meaning in our culture. Another more familiar word that has been recently created is "mousepad". Which is not a place where mice live but something used in the aide of computer operation.

With the new arrivals to the Americas, one often wonders if trappers and frontiersman had personal interaction with these beings. If so, did the bigfoot selectively choose English, French or Spanish words given to certain objects or meanings and adopt them for their own just as we have done over the millenia?

If we were to teach gorilla to "sign (sign language)" which has been achieved I might add; and then later release it into the wild; what would happen? The first scenario that I can imagine is that either the gorilla would die from "not being able to adapt" OR "it would thrive".Given this scenario, if the gorilla survived, would it teach others what it learned? In otherwords, would we have a clan of wild gorillas that all knew how to use sign language?

Additionally, if the bigfoot people do know how to communicate via "vocal chords", then we can knowlonger classify this animinal as and "animal". Instead, we'd have to go back, retract and consider the possibilities that we are dealing with "humanoids". Or "hominids" as suggested by Russian scientist and a handful of American researchers.

The question then arises that IF we are dealing with "primitive humans"; do they not and are they not subjected to the same rights as modern humans?
<dc:subject>Alabama</dc:subject>

Albert Ostman's Story - 1924 (Toba Inlet, British Columbia)

I have always followed logging and construction work. This time I had worked over one year on a construction job, and thought a good vacation was in order. B. C. is famous for lost gold mines.

One is supposed to be at the head of Toba Inlet — why not look for this mine and have a vacation at the same time? I took the Union Steamship boat to Lund, B.C. From there I hired an old Indian to take me to the head of Toba Inlet.

This old Indian was a very talkative old gentleman. He told me stories about gold brought out by a white man from this lost mine. This white man was a very heavy drinker — spent his money freely in saloons. But he had no trouble in getting more money. He would be away a few days, then come back with a bag of gold. But one time he went to his mine and never came back. Some people said a Sasquatch had killed him.

At that time I had never heard of Sasquatch. So I asked what kind of an animal he called a Sasquatch. The Indian said, "They have hair all over their bodies, but they are not animals. They are people. Big people living in the mountains. My uncle saw the tracks of one that were two feet long. One old Indian saw one over eight feet tall."

I told the Indian I didn't believe in their old fables about mountain giants. It might have been some thousands of years ago, but not nowadays.

The Indian said: "There may not be many, but they still exist."

We arrived at the head of the inlet about 4:00 p.m. I made camp at the mouth of a creek ...The Indian had supper with me, and I told him to look out for me in about three weeks. I would be camping at the same spot when I came back ...

Next morning I took my rifle with me, but left my equipment at the camp. I decided to look around for some deer trail to lead me up into the mountains. On the way up the inlet I had seen a pass in the mountain that I wanted to go through, to see what was on the other side.

I spent most of the forenoon looking for a trail but found none, except for a hogback running down to the beach. So I swamped out a trail from there, got back to my camp about 3:00 p.m. that afternoon, and made up my pack to be ready in the morning. My equipment consisted of one 30- 30 Winchester rifle, I had a special home-made prospecting pick, axe on one end, pick on the other. I had a leather case for this pick which fastened to my belt, also my sheath knife.

The storekeeper at Lund was co-operative. He gave me some cans for my sugar, salt and matches to keep them dry. My grub consisted mostly of canned stuff, except for a side of bacon, a bag of beans, four pounds of prunes and six packets of macaroni, cheese, three pounds of pancake flour and six packets of Rye King hard tack, three rolls of snuff, one quart sealer of butter and two one-pound cans of milk. I had two boxes of shells for my rifle.

The storekeeper gave me a biscuit tin. I put a few things in that and cached it under a windfall, so I would have it when I came back here waiting for a boat to bring me out. My sleeping bag I rolled up and tied on top of my pack sack, together with my ground sheet, small frying pan, and one aluminum pot that held about a gallon. As my canned food was used, I would get plenty of empty cans to cook with.

The following morning I had an early breakfast, made up my pack, and started out up this hogback. My pack must have been at least eighty pounds, besides my rifle. After one hour, I had to rest. I kept resting and climbing all that morning. About 2:00 p.m. I came to a flat place below a rock bluff. There was a bunch of willow in one place. I made a wooden spade and started digging for water. About a foot down I got seepings of water, so I decided to camp here for the night, and scout around for the best way to get on from here.

I must have been up to near a thousand feet. There was a most beautiful view over the islands and the Strait — tugboats with log booms, and fishing boats going in all directions. A lovely spot. I spent the following day prospecting round. But no sign of minerals. I found a deer trail leading towards this pass that I had seen on my way up the inlet. The following morning I started out early, while it was cool. It was steep climbing with my heavy pack. After a three hours climb, I was tired and stopped to rest. On the other side of a ravine from where I was resting was a yellow spot below some small trees. I moved over there and started digging for water.

I found a small spring and made a small trough from cedar bark and got a small amount of water, had my lunch and rested here 'till evening ... I made it over the pass late that night.

Now I had downhill and good going, but I was hungry and tired, so I camped at the first bunch of trees I came to ... I was trying to size up the terrain — what direction I would take from here. Towards west would lead to low land and some other inlet, so I decided to go in a northeast direction ... had good going and slight down hill all day. I must have made 10 miles when I came to a small spring and a big black hemlock tree.

This was a lovely campsite, I spent two days here just resting and prospecting. The first night here I shot a small deer...

(Two days later) ... I found an exceptionally good campsite. It was two good-sized cypress trees growing close together and near a rock wall with a nice spring just below these trees. I intended to make this my permanent camp. I cut lots of brush for my bed between these trees. I rigged up a pole from this rock wall to hang my packsack on, and I arranged some flat rocks for my fireplace for cooking. I had a really classy setup... And that is when things began to happen.

I am a heavy sleeper, not much disturbs me after I go to sleep, especially on a good bed like I had now.

Next morning I noticed things had been disturbed during the night. But nothing missing I could see. I roasted my grouse on a stick for breakfast...

That night I filled up the magazine of my rifle. I still had one full box of 20 shells and six shells in my coat pocket. That night I laid my rifle under the edge of my sleeping bag. I thought a porcupine had visited me the night before and porkies like leather, so I put my shoes in the bottom of my sleeping bag.

Next morning my pack sack had been emptied out. Some one had turned the sack upside down. It was still hanging on the pole from the shoulder straps as i had hung it up. Then I noticed one half-pound package of prunes was missing. Also my pancake flour was missing, but my salt bag was not touched. Porkies always look for salt, so I decided it must be something else than porkies. I looked for tracks but found none. I did not think it was a bear, they always tear up and make a mess of things. I kept close to camp these days in case this visitor would come back.

I climbed up on a big rock where I had a good view of the camp, but nothing showed up. I was hoping it would be a porky, so I would get a good porky stew. These visits had now been going on for three nights...

This night it was cloudy and looked like it might rain. I took special notice of how everything was arranged. I closed my pack sack, I did not undress, I only took off my shoes, put them in the bottom of my sleeping bag. I drove my prospecting pick into one of the cypress trees so I could reach it from my bed. I also put the rifle alongside me, inside my sleeping bag. I fully intended to stay awake all night to find out who my visitor was, but I must have fallen asleep.

I was awakened by something picking me up. I was half asleep and at first I did not remember where I was. As I began to get my wits together, I remembered I was on this prospecting trip, and in my sleeping bag.

My first thought was — it must be a snow slide, but there was no snow around my camp. Then it felt like I was tossed on horseback, but I could feel whoever it was, was walking.

I tried to reason out what kind of animal this could be. I tried to get at my sheath knife, and cut my way out, but I was in an almost sitting position, and the knife was under me. I could not get hold of it, but the rifle was in front of me, I had a good hold of that, and had no intention to let go of it. At times I could feel my packsack touching me, and could feel the cans in the sack touching my back.

After what seemed like an hour, I could feel we were going up a steep hill. I could feel myself rise for every step. What was carrying me was breathing hard and sometimes gave a slight cough. Now, I knew this must be one of the mountain Sasquatch giants the Indian told me about.

I was in a very uncomfortable position — unable to move. I was sitting on my feet, and one of the boots in the bottom of the bag was crossways with the hobnail sole up across my foot. It hurt me terribly, but I could not move.

It was very hot inside. It was lucky for me this fellow's hand was not big enough to close up the whole bag when he picked me up — there was a small opening at the top, otherwise I would have choked to death.

Now he was going downhill. I could feel myself touching the ground at times and at one time he dragged me behind him and I could feel he was below me. Then he seemed to get on level ground and was going at a trot for a long time. By this time, I had cramps in my legs, the pain was terrible. I was wishing he would get to his destination soon. I could not stand this type of transportation much longer.

Now he was going uphill again. It did not hurt me so bad. I tried to estimate distance and directions. As near as I could guess we were about three hours travelling. I had no idea when he started as I was asleep when he picked me up.

Finally he stopped and let me down. Then he dropped my packsack, I could hear the cans rattle. Then I heard chatter — some kind of talk I did not understand. The ground was sloping so when he let go of my sleeping bag, I rolled downhill. I got my head out, and got some air. I tried to straighten my legs and crawl out, but my legs were numb.

It was still dark, I could not see what my captors looked like. I tried to massage my legs to get some life in them, and get my shoes on. I could hear now it was at least four of them, they were standing around me, and continuously chattering. I had never heard of Sasquatch before the Indian told me about them. But I knew I was right among them.

But how to get away from them, that was another question? I got to see the outline of them now, as it began to get lighter, though the sky was cloudy, and it looked like rain, in fact there was a slight sprinkle.

I now had circulation in my legs, but my left foot was very sore on top where it had been resting on my hobnail boots. I got my boots out from the sleeping bag and tried to stand up. I found that I was wobbly on my feet, but I had a good hold of my rifle.

I asked, "What you fellows want with me?" Only some more chatter.

It was getting lighter now, and I could see them quite clearly. I could make out forms of four people. Two big and two little ones. They were all covered with hair and no clothes on at all.

I could now make out mountains all around me. I looked at my watch. It was 4:25 a.m. It was getting lighter now and I could see the people clearly.

They look like a family, old man, old lady and two young ones, a boy and a girl. The boy and the girl seem to be scared of me. The old lady did not seem too pleased about what the old man dragged home. But the old man was waving his arms and telling them all what he had in mind. They all left me then.

I had my compass and my prospecting glass on strings around my neck. The compass in my lefthand shirt pocket and my glass in my right hand pocket. 1 tried to reason our location, and where I was. I could see now that I was in a small valley or basin about eight or ten acres, surrounded by high mountains, on the southeast side there was a V-shaped opening about eight feet wide at the bottom and about twenty feet high at the highest point — that must be the way I came in. But how will I get out? The old man was now sitting near this opening.

I moved my belongings up close to the west wall. There were two small cypress trees there, and this will do for a shelter for the time being. Until I find out what these people want with me, and how to get away from here. I emptied out my packsack to see what I had left in the line of food. All my canned meat and vegetables were intact and I had one can of coffee. Also three small cans of milk — two packages of Rye King hard tack and my butter sealer half full of butter. But my prunes and macaroni were missing. Also my full box of shells for my rifle. I had my sheath knife but my prospecting pick was missing and my can of matches. I only had my safety box full and that held only about a dozen matches. That did not worry me — I can always start a fire with my prospecting glass when the sun is shining, if I got dry wood. I wanted hot coffee, but I had no wood, also nothing around here that looked like wood. I had a good look over the valley from where I was — but the boy and girl were always watching me from behind some juniper bush. I decided there must be some water around here. The ground was leaning towards the opening in the wall. There must be water at the upper end of this valley, there is green grass and moss along the bottom.

All my utensils were left behind. I opened my coffee tin and emptied the coffee in a dishtowel and tied it with the metal strip from the can. I took my rifle and the can and went looking for water. Right at the head under a cliff there was a lovely spring that disappeared underground. I got a drink, and a full can of water. When I got back the young boy was looking over my belongings, but did not touch anything. On my way back I noticed where these people were sleeping. On the east side wall of this valley was a shelf in the mountain side, with overhanging rock, looking something like a big undercut in a big tree about 10 feet deep and 30 feet wide. The floor was covered with lots of dry moss, and they had some kind of blankets woven of narrow strips of cedar bark, packed with dry moss. They looked very practical and warm — with no need of washing.

The first day not much happened. I had to eat my food cold. The young fellow was coming nearer me, and seemed curious about me. My one snuff box was empty, so I relied it toward him. When he saw it coming, he sprang up quick as a cat, and grabbed it. He went over to his sister and showed her. They found out how to open and close it — they spent a long time playing with it — then he trotted over to the old man and showed him. They had a long chatter.

Next morning, I made up my mind to leave this place — if I had to shoot my way out. I could not stay much longer, I had only enough grub to last me till I got back to Toba Inlet. I did not know the direction but I would go down hill and I would come out near civilization some place. I rolled up my sleeping bag, put that inside my pack sack — packed the few cans I had — swung the sack on my back, injected the shell in the barrel of my rifle and started for the opening in the wall. The old man got up, held up his hands as though he would push me back.

I pointed to the opening. I wanted to go out. But he stood there pushing towards me — and said something that sounded like "Soka, soka." I backed up to about sixty feet. I did not want to be too close, I thought, if I had to shoot my way out. A 30-30 might not have much effect on this fellow, it might make him mad. I only had six shells so I decided to wait. There must be a better way than killing him, in order to get out from here. I went back to my campsite to figure out some other way to get out.

I could make friends with the young fellow or the girl, they might help me. If I only could talk to them. Then I thought of a fellow who saved himself from a mad bull by blinding him with snuff in his eyes. But how will I get near enough to this fellow to put snuff in his eyes? So I decided next time I give the young fellow my snuff box to leave a few grains of snuff in it. He might give the old man a taste of it.

But the question is, in what direction will I go, if I should get out? I must have been near 25 miles northeast of Toba Inlet when I was kidnapped. This fellow must have travelled at least 25 miles in the three hours he carried me. If he went west we would be near salt water — same thing if he went south — therefore he must have gone northeast. If I then keep going south and over two mountains, I must hit salt water someplace between Lund and Vancouver.

The following day I did not see the old lady till about 4:00 p.m. She came home with her arms full of grass and twigs and of all kinds of spruce and hemlock as well as some kind of nuts that grow in the ground. I have seen lots of them on Vancouver Island. The young fellow went up the mountain to the east every day, he could climb better than a mountain goat. He picked some kind of grass with long sweet roots. He gave me some one day — they tasted very sweet. I gave him another snuff box with about a teaspoon of snuff in it. He tasted it, then went to the old man — he licked it with his tongue. They had a long chat. I made a dipper from a milk can. I made many dippers — you can use them for pots too — you cut two slits near the top of any can — then cut a limb from any small tree — cut down back of the limb down the stem of the tree — then taper the part you cut from the stem. Then cut a hole in the tapered part, slide the tapered part in the slit you have made in the can, and you have a good handle on your can. I threw one over to the young fellow, that was playing near my camp, he picked it up and looked at it then he went to the old man and showed it to him. They had a long chatter. Then he came to me, pointed at the dipper then at his sister. I could see that he wanted one for her too. I had other peas and carrots, so I made one for his sister. He was standing only eight feet away from me. When I had made the dipper, I dipped it in water and drank from it, he was very pleased, almost smiled at me. Then I took a chew of snuff, smacked my lips, said that's good.

The young fellow pointed to the old man, said something that sounded like "Ook." I got the idea that the old man liked snuff, and the young fellow wanted a box for the old man. I shook my head. I motioned with my hands for the old man to come to me. I do not think the young fellow understood what I meant. He went to his sister and gave her the dipper I made for her. They did not come near me again that day. I had now been here six days, but I was sure I was making progress. If only I could get the old man to come over to me, get him to eat a full box of snuff that would kill him for sure, and that way kill himself, I wouldn't be guilty of murder.

The old lady was a meek old thing. The young fellow was by this time quite friendly. The girl would not hurt anybody. Her chest was flat like a boy's — no development like young ladies. I am sure if I could get the old man out of the way I could easily have brought this girl out with me to civilization. But what good would that have been? I would have to keep her in a cage for public display. I don't think we have any right to force our way of life on other people, and I don't think they would like it. (The noise and racket in a modern city they would not like any more than I do.)

The young fellow might have been between 11-18 years old and about seven feet tall and might weight about 300 lbs. His chest would be 50-55 inches, his waist about 36-38 inches. He had wide jaws, narrow forehead, that slanted upward round at the back about four or five inches higher than the forehead. The hair on their heads was about six inches long. The hair on the rest of their body was short and thick in places. The women's hair on the forehead had an upward turn like some women have — they call it bangs, among women's hair-do's. Nowadays the old lady could have been anything between 40-70 years old. She was over seven feet tall. She would be about 500-600 pounds.

She had very wide hips, and a goose-like walk. She was not built for beauty or speed. Some of those lovable brassieres and uplifts would have been a great improvement on her looks and her figure. The man's eyeteeth were longer than the rest of the teeth, but not long enough to be called tusks. The old man must have been near eight feet tall. Big barrel chest and big hump on his back — powerful shoulders, his biceps on upper arm were enormous and tapered down to his elbows. His forearms were longer than common people have, but well proportioned. His hands were wide, the palm was long and broad, and hollow like a scoop. His fingers were short in proportion to the rest of his hand. His fingernails were like chisels. The only place they had no hair was inside their hands and the soles of their feet and upper part of the nose and eyelids. I never did see their ears, they were covered with hair hanging over them.

If the old man were to wear a collar it would have to be at least 30 inches. I have no idea what size shoes they would need. I was watching the young fellow's foot one day when he was sitting down. The soles of his feet seemed to be padded like a dog's foot, and the big toe was longer than the rest and very strong. In mountain climbing all he needed was footing for his big toe. They were very agile. To sit down they turned their knees out and came straight down. To rise they came straight up without help of hands or arms. I don't think this valley was their permanent home. I think they move from place to place, as food is available in different localities. They might eat meat, but I never saw them eat meat, or do any cooking.

I think this was probably a stopover place and the plants with sweet roots on the mountain side might have been in season this time of the year. They seem to be most interested in them. The roots have a very sweet and satisfying taste. They always seem to do everything for a reason, wasted no time on anything they did not need. When they were not looking for food, the old man and the old lady were resting, but the boy and the girl were always climbing something or some other exercise. A favorite position was to take hold of his feet with his hands and balance on his rump, then bounce forward. The idea seems to be to see how far he could go without his feet or hands touching the ground. Sometimes he made 20 feet.

But what do they want with me? They must understand I cannot stay here indefinitely. I will soon have to make a break for freedom. Not that I was mistreated in any way. One consolation was that the old man was coming closer each day, and was very interested in my snuff. Watching me when I take a pinch of snuff. He seems to think it useless to only put it inside my lips. One morning after I had my breakfast both the old man and the boy came and sat down only ten feet away from me. This morning I made coffee. I had saved up all dry branches I found and I had some dry moss and I used all the labels from cans to start a fire.

I got my coffee pot boiling and it was strong coffee too, and the aroma from boiling coffee was what brought them over. I was sitting eating hard tack with plenty of butter on, and sipping coffee. And it sure tasted good. I was smacking my lips pretending it was better than it really was. I set the can down that was about half full. I intended to warm it up later. I pulled out a full box of snuff, took a big chew. Before I had time to close the box the old man reached for it. I was afraid he would waste it, and only had two more boxes. So I held on to the box intending him to take a pinch like I had just done. Instead he grabbed the box and emptied it in his mouth. Swallowed it in one gulp. Then he licked the box inside with his tongue.

After a few minutes his eyes began to roll over in his head, he was looking straight up. I could see he was sick. Then he grabbed my coffee can that was quite cold by this time, he emptied that in his mouth, grounds and all. That did no good. He stuck his head between his legs and rolled forwards a few times away from me. Then he began to squeal like a stuck pig. I grabbed my rifle. I said to myself, "This is it. If he comes for me I will shoot him plumb between his eyes." But he started for the spring, he wanted water. I packed my sleeping bag in my pack sack with the few cans I had left. The young fellow ran over to his mother. Then she began to squeal. I started for the opening in the wall — and I just made it. The old lady was right behind me. I fired one shot at the rock over her head.

I guess she had never seen a rifle fired before. She turned and ran inside the wall. I injected another shell in the barrel of my rifle and started downhill, looking back over my shoulder every so often to see if they were coming. I was in a canyon, and good travelling and I made fast time. Must have made three miles in some world record time. I came to a turn in the canyon and I had the sun on my left, that meant I was going south, and the canyon turned west. I decided to climb the ridge ahead of me. I knew that I must have two mountain ridges between me and salt water and by climbing this ridge I would have a good view of this canyon, so I could see if the Sasquatch were coming after me. I had a light pack and was making good time up this hill. I stopped soon after to look back to where I came from, but nobody followed me. As I came over the ridge I could see Mt. Baker, then I knew I was going in the right direction.

I was hungry and tired. I opened my packsack to see what I had to eat. I decided to rest here for a while. I had a good view of the mountain side, and if the old man was coming I had the advantage because I was up above him. To get me he would have to come up a steep hill. And that might not be so easy after stopping a few 30-30 bullets. I had made up my mind this was my last chance, and this would be a fight to the finish ... I rested here for two hours. It was 3:00 p.m. when I started down the mountain side. It was nice going, not too steep and not too much underbrush.

When I got near the bottom, I shot a big blue grouse. She was sitting on a windfall, looking right at me, only a hundred feet away. I shot her neck right off.

I made it down the creek at the bottom of this canyon. I felt I was safe now. I made a fire between two big boulders, roasted the grouse. Next morning when I woke up, I was feeling terrible. My feet were sore from dirty socks. My legs were sore, my stomach was upset from that grouse that I ate the night before. I was not too sure I was going to make it up that mountain. I finally made the top, but it took me six hours to get there. It was cloudy, visibility about a mile.

I knew I had to go down hill. After about two hours I got down to the heavy timber and sat down to rest. I could hear a motor running hard at times, then stop. I listened to this for a while and decided the sound was from a gas donkey. Someone was logging in the neighborhood.

I told them I was a prospector and was lost ... I did not like to tell them I had been kidnapped by a Sasquatch, as if I had told them, they would probably have said, he is crazy too.

The following day I went down from this camp on Salmon Arm Branch of Sechelt Inlet. From there I got the Union Boat back to Vancouver. That was my last prospecting trip, and my only experience with what is known as Sasquatches. I know that in 1924 there were four Sasquatches living, it might be only two now. The old man and the old lady might be dead by this time.

We've had a number of sightings near San Antonio, Texas, a game cam photo from Kentucky, one in the infamous Happy Valley Circle area of Georgia and one in the great state of Minnesota. The last of which brings me to writing this article. After reviewing the Minnesota game-cam photos; I have come to the conclusion that these are faked. Why? Because I have personally seen bigfoot-type peoples and this is not the way of their appearance in both movement or stature.
Additionally, any bigfoot researcher will tell you that it is virtually impossible to capture such an event on a game camera. Not impossible; just "unlikely". For instance, the Kentucky photo that surfaced a few months back was most likely of a bigfoot type being. Why? Because it actually had a face and was comparative to known bigfoot statures. The method by which it was obtained seemed sound. But there again, was it real? We'll never know. A great many people have commented on the Minnesota Game-Cam Photo.

Let's see what some of them have to say:

"I am the chief investigator of Georgia Bigfoot Research And Investigations™ and have been in the field for over 20 years, but even a rookie can tell that is not a creature but someone in a suit. Look at the legs they look just like the way a pair of pants would fit over someone's legs, then look at the distance of the stride?. If it was a creature, the distance would be further apart. This looks like the stride of a normal man. As for the prints... well I have poured hundreds of pounds of plaster and I have never pulled anything that looks like this- so for my opinion, this is yet again another hoax." - Jack Jackson, Georgia Bigfoot And Investigation™

"If this is not a fake, it is an OUTSTANDING bf picture". - Terry Trainor, The United Bigfoot Research Group™

"Fake. The suit is akin to what was used in the "Rick-Matt Hoax" in Georgia. The being pictured is not anatomically correct either. Nor do the feet plasters suggest with their size that they came from the individual in the photo. These photos are very similar to something you'd see posted by BUTCHYKID on youtube.com" - Jeffrey Teagle (President-Owner), The Chattahoochee Bigfoot Organization™

"I believe this photograph to be a hoax. It looks like an ill fitting Halloween costume. The body to too skinny and not bulky like real Bigfoot creatures. There's not any muscle tone at all. The stride is not long enough either. Like I said earlier, I believe this to be fake." - Shane Honea (Field Investigator), The Chattahoochee Bigfoot Organization™

Everybody seems to believe that the Minnesota picture was a shot of someone in some kind of hairy suit. According to measurements of the little tree in front of him, he would have had to be about 7 feet tall. I don't think it was a man. It was in actual fact a photoshopped image. Go to http://www.hairygiants.com/ and all will be explained. - William Mayes, Bigfoot Researcher

The Bemidji Pioneer reported this week that two hunters near there say they captured a Bigfoot in photographs in the woods. Biology experts aren't so sure.

In the story, Tim Kedrowski told Pioneer Editor Molly Miron that he and his sons, Peter and Casey, got a photo of a Bigfoot-like creature on a game trail camera set up on their hunting land north of Remer, Minn.

Kedrowski told Miron that photo frame was clicked at 7:20 p.m. Oct. 24, a rainy night in Remer. They checked with neighbors and other hunters who might have been in the area and they all said the image isn't them, he told Miron. Kedrowski told the Pioneer he considered possibilities from a bear to a bow hunter in a fuzzy suit. But the arm and hand couldn’t be a bear’s, Kedrowksi said. The upright gait doesn't match a bear, either, he said.

The Kedrowskis checked the Minnesota Bigfoot Web site and contacted Don Sherman and Bob Olson, the Northern Minnesota Bigfoot Research Team.
Sherman is the facilities manager for the Cass Lake Indian Health Service Hospital, and Olson is an auto body repairman in Deer River, Minn.
Sherman is known for investigating reports of Bigfoot sighting and says he has made casts of footprints. He said he once caught footage of a Bigfoot on a thermal imaging camera and heard its warbling call.

Kedrowski said when Sherman saw the game camera image from October, he said it appeared to be a Bigfoot. Sherman went with the Kedrowskis to the photo site and measured the height of the creature in comparison to the sapling next to it. His calculations came up with a creature about 7 feet tall, the Pioneer reported.

“I’ve hunted there for 43 years,” Tim said of their property near Shingle Mill Lake. “I’ve seen one bear off my deer stand. I’ve seen three timber wolves.”

Casey Kedrowski said he and his brother had gone out to the family’s hunting shack prior to deer season to bring in firewood and make other preparations. They set up a game trail camera to see what might be wandering around their property. Casey said he and his brother were the only people who knew where the camera was located. They took the camera down when deer season started, and a couple of weeks later checked on what they had caught.

When they came to the picture of the long-armed creature walking upright, Casey said, “We just looked at each other. Each of us thought we were playing a trick on each other.”

When they determined that neither of them had pulled a prank on the other, they checked to see if anyone had been in the area that night. Tim said the only neighbors were two elderly hunters in their own shack, neither of whom matched the size and appearance of the creature caught on camera.

However, he said, when he asked the men about the night the camera clicked on the mystery, they said they had gone out about 2 a.m. to use the outhouse and had heard strange squealing noises. Ted said he asked them to show him the direction of the sounds. They pointed to the area where the camera had been, although they had no idea of its location.

Sharing photo

Ted Kedrowski told the Pioneer he waited until last weekend to grant permission to publish the photo. “It was deer season and we wanted to concentrate on deer hunting, and (we) really wanted to talk to people in the area and … make sure they weren’t scamming us,” he said. “We’re not 100 percent sure, obviously. After visiting with (Sherman and Olson) we feel they’ve done a lot more investigation. That’s why we put it in their hands.”

Sherman said the Northern Minnesota Bigfoot Research Team started receiving reports of Bigfoot sightings in 2006 and has had reports every year since, including four reports this year. He said the first reported sighting he investigated was from a man running a road grader near Six Mile Lake south of Lake Winnibigoshish. Sherman said he was able to make casts of the footprints. A more recent sighting report was by a truck driver.

“I’ve talked to this guy – this was last year – he was coming from Crosby (Minn.) with a load of lumber by Washburn Lake,” Sherman told the Pioneer. “It had hands, he said, like baseball mitts. It took three steps to cross the road. He was pretty shook up.”

Doubt expressed

In spite of Sherman's reports, Bemidji biologists remain unconvinced. “Personally, I don’t buy the fact this thing exists,” said Blane Klemek, assistant wildlife manager with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources in Bemidji.

“There are certainly species that are discovered each year – but megafauna – rare is it a big mammal is discovered,” he said.

Klemek noted the controversy over reported sightings and film of the what might be an ivory-billed woodpecker in the Big Woods of Arkansas, a species thought to have been extinct since the 1920s.

He also noted than no one has ever found a Bigfoot carcass.

“All organisms die; they don’t just go away,” Klemek said. “You’d think someone someday would find one.”

Evan Hazard, Bemidji State University retired mammalogist, also expressed doubt about the Bigfoot’s existence. “I just don’t know,” he said. “My background in mammalogy makes me skeptical, not expert. My inclination is to say we really don’t have good evidence.”

Hazard said proof would be a clear photo matched with footprints at the same site – multiple pieces of overlapping evidence.

Search continues

Sherman said his search would go on. He said he believes the Bigfoot is intelligent and perfectly at home in the woods. “That’s why they’re so elusive. They know the woods better than any hunter because they live it.”

Kedrowksi said they would never shoot Bigfoot. “Absolutely not – no way,” said Tim Kedrowksi. “I asked my sons would they shoot it, and they said no. It has every right to live.”

Sherman told the Pioneer, “I’ve talked to people who’ve had them in their sights and their scopes, and they said they couldn’t pull the trigger.” He urged anyone who wants to report a Bigfoot sighting or evidence of the creature to call him at (218) 308-1451 or Olson at (218) 246-8493.

Evaluation of photo: Fake. Fake and FAKE. Any avid bigfoot researcher who is true to their work can see this is a costume. So, the point of view is that A.) someone was playing a trick OR B.) the trail cam guy faked this photo. This doesn't even resemble a bigfoot. It looks like something you'd see from BUTCHYKID on youtube.com. There's no muscularity with the being and the hair is too uniform.

The plaster casts: This poor researcher does not have a plaster cast. Comparatively, the feet in the photo do not match what the investigator is holding up. He has been suckered!

Also, this story is convenient since we've had sightings in both Texas and Georgia recently. Sounds like Minnesota is trying to get into the news now as well.
<dc:subject>Minnesota</dc:subject>

Tee-Pee, Rock And Arch Formations?

It has been long understood fact that tee-pee markers, rock stacks and arch formations are common place during and near bigfoot sightings. What do they mean or better yet; what do they represent? Anyones guess is a good as the next. But let us look closer. The Native Americans always considered the bigfoot beings a "a people". Similar in appearance but nevertheless a tribe of "swarthy, hairy and overly-large" group aof people (or tribe if you will)".
Native Americans knew that these being were primarily nocturnal. In otherwords, they chose to show up during the night when others were asleep or getting ready for bed. My theory is that this technique primarily allowed them considerable concealment. Are they using the covertness of dark as a tool "as to not to scare the 'be-Jesus out of others? Or is it simply to come and probe around looking for food and keepsakes?
Creating such things as tee-pees, rock piles or stacks have long since been related to indian tribes marking the land for passer-byers' as to the locations of water, food sources or safe havens. Would it not be common since that the bigfoot also knew of these techniques and applied them so that other bigfoot would see the tell-tale signs while passing from one area to the next? We have to then ask ourselves where the bigfoot learned these messages or "greeting cards" as I call them. Did American Indians and bigfoot once co-exist peacefully? Did they have learning relationship together at one time?
So...what should we do when we run across these signs? Well, first of all we should document them by photographing, drawing or videoing them. We should then carefully inspect each branch or rock for signs of unusual hair or possible habitation. The last thing one should do is to disassemble any unknown structure realizing that something with an "opposable thumb" had to make them. In otherwords, something had to have the dexterity to situate these items just so. Which eludes to the fact that these beings are creative. Creative in such a method that only their kind would recognize these signs in the forest (unless you are a researcher and know to look for these items). The typical hiker or woodsman would merely shrug these forms of communication off without giving them a second thought.
Secondly, we should try to interpret a meaning for these structures. Are they in an area with abundant food? Are they temporary concealed shelter? Are they ritualistic in nature? Look for the thing that should not be there and less so the obvious. Lastly, we should try to better understand why these formations, especially the "tee-pee's" are that particular shape. Why aren't they square? Or round? OR rectangular? Why pyramidal (or conical) in shape? The overall shape in general of tee-pee's is amazing and raises a lot of questions within itself. Why do rock stacks typically start off with large stones from the botton only to taper off into smaller stones at the top?

<dc:subject>Alabama</dc:subject>

Minnesota Iceman Reflections (1968)

Photos: (L) Actual photo, (R) Artists' rendering

My own encounter was with the famous "Minnesota Iceman", which was on display on the midway of the county fair my brother and I attended in 1968. This being was something truly rare and not a hoax I am sure of this. I saw this exhibit once again in 1988 and the creature this time did not look the same at all, but was billed as the same. A waist of $5.00 to see the darn thing.
Over the years my interest in this mystery has taken me to many places; my Lakota-Sioux relatives told me stories of the "Tonka Man" (Buffalo Man), when I was a little boy and it lived lived near them along the Mississippi River near Red Wing. My aunt even claimed to see one when she was a little girl in 1937. It was on the river near a elderberry tree. The creature was eating berries when she and her friend came upon it. It turned looked at them and walked slowly into the woods.
She said it had a dark red face and big nose; and a talleywacker (a penis). I had to ask my mom what was ( I was so embarrassed). She later told me it was close to 7 feet tall. Another observed curiosity about them was that the bigfoot would only come on nights when there was no full moon, and when there was a time of a tragedy or death of an elder (this was to stand guard over the members of the tribe).

Source: Chattahoochee Bigfoot Organization™ member Mr. Thomas Finley, Essex England
<dc:subject>Minnesota</dc:subject>

Uh oh, Bigfoot roaming in north Fayette?

(actual Lee And Gordon Millworks on Lee's Mill Road)

Reports of the sightings of large primates, usually referred to as “Bigfoot,” are not uncommon across the United States. But they are uncommon in Fayette County. At least until this past summer. A story posted on the Georgia Mysteries website on Dec. 5 changed all that with its report of a north Fayette County woman who said she encountered a large hairy creature on Lee’s Mill Road in mid-July.

The Citizen was unable to contact the Bigfoot Field Research Organization (BFRO), its investigator or the Georgia Mysteries website contributor to obtain additional information on the incident described on the website.

The unnamed woman who reported the July 17 incident, according to the Georgia Mysteries story, was rounding a curve on Lee’s Mill Road as she drove home from work on a clear night at approximately 11 p.m.The woman described the creature in her headlights as being approximately 6 feet to 7 feet in height, hairy with a medium build and with a loping gait.

“As I rounded a curve I saw something walking across the road in front of me. It was tall, not slim but not thick and covered in grayish-brownish hair. It never turned to look at me and just loped across the road and off in the dark. I was traveling about 40 mph and slowed quite a bit to ensure it would make it across without me hitting it,” the website report said.

The creature did not turn towards the vehicle at all, just continued across the road to the other tree line, according to the unverified report. The sighting lasted 10-15 seconds. At the closest point the woman said she was approximately 10 feet from the creature, according to the report.

A follow-up report was done by BFRO investigator Mary Snyder. In her statement Snyder said the witness had been sincere in her report of the incident.

“I could hear in her voice that she was still very upset about the encounter,” Snyder said.

The woman is reported to have said that subsequent to the event she learned that sightings had occurred a few years ago in Coweta County. There were several sightings of the “Happy Valley Horror” in 2005 in the Happy Valley Circle area of north Coweta, as reported in the local media.

Source: The Citizen (Fayette, Georgia), article reference sent in by Chattahoochee Bigfoot Organization™ member Mr. Jan Allen Sr.

<dc:subject>Georgia</dc:subject>

San Antonio, Texas 911 Call

Sources: San Antonio, Texas Police Department, KENs5 News, BFGTV, Oregon Bigfoot™

This is the emergency 911 call taken from the San Antonio, Texas area either yesterday or today.

<dc:subject>Texas</dc:subject>

Barrow County, Georgia 1991 - Bigfoot Sighting

I was a part of a bigfoot encounter that took place in November of 1991 while "coon hunting" in Barrow County,Georgia. Myself and two other hunting buddies had an encounter with a huge bi-pedal creature. It actually followed us for some distance. We were standing with our lights off, listening to the hounds running a raccoon. The creature was behind us some 15 to 20 yards. We shined our lights in the direction of the noises behind and when the lights hit it, it ran off in the direction of a hill on our right making a terrible crashing sound as it went. The creature was very large and covered with hair. It ran off on two legs and was upright. We did smell a terrible musty odor before we saw the creature. On several occasions we had smelled that odor. There were reports of footprints down by the creekside but I never witnessed this. Till this day I believe that I had witnessed a bigfoot.

Since becoming a member of the Georgia Bigfoot Society™ I have been on several field investigations that yielded evidence such as footprints, tree bows and wood knockings.

Source: Chattahoochee Bigfoot Organization™ member Mr. Shane Honea (CBO Field Researcher, Georgia)
<dc:subject>Georgia</dc:subject>

Upcoming Book Review: In the Footsteps of the Russian Snowman

Over the next several weeks, I'll be reading the book "In the Footsteps of the Russian Snowman" by Mr. Dmitri Bayonov (ISBN 5-900229-18-1) and edited by Mr. Igor Burtsev. I have read the book before but have always wanted to revisit it to compare and contrast stories, incidents and evidence within its covers to that found in America.
Some years ago I was so excited about reading the book that I virtually finished its 230+ pages within a nights time. I remember sitting or rather laying there diligently consumed within the stories and accounts shared by Mr. Bayanov and Mr. Burtsev. I had actually highlighted the passages that I wanted to discuss at a later date but I lost the book in a move from Warner Robbins, Georgia to Columbus, Georgia. However, I have a back-up copy and I'll be using it.
I am as many are a firm believer with the entire book. It contents are too revealing not to be true with incidents occuring that only someone who actively follows bigfoot research would know about. The book covers everything from humans interacting sexually with the bigfoot from days past to current theories of bigfoot exploration throughout the the Russian region.

This particular post will not have future entries.
On August 20th, 1999 near Blue Ridge, Georgia (Interstate 575), a glassworker went out to take measurements for installation at a mountain cabin. Upon arrival to the property, he noticed two Bigfoot (one gray & one brown) standing on the unfinished cabin's balcony that overlooked the mountain scenery. The gray Bigfoot was described as being 7-8 ft while the brown was around 7 ft in height.

The installer reported that the Bigfoot (plural) walked down steps leading to a woodline and casually strolled of into the woods on an apparent created trail (indicating that they may have been seeking refuge at the unfinished cabin for some time). The worker stated that he waited a bit before entering the cabin (30 to 40 minutes). Remarkably, he found sticks, twigs, limbs and old clothing that appeared to be some type of bedding location stacked in one corner of the cabin.

Unfortunately, the structure is now occupied by the owners. The CBO is trying to gain permission to inspect wooded areas near the cabin. Hopefully, permission will be granted in January 2003.

No odors were described during the encounter.

***

Update: No further information concerning bigfoot was ever gathered from this witness. However, since his hominid sighting he has encountered 3-4 new reports of unidentified flying objects (two bright and luminescent and one black triangular). They are not believed to be connected with his prior bigfoot sighting.

I have been meaning to write and ask you if you've got any sightings of Bigfoot near the Big South Fork park area? I live in Fentress county, about 4 or so miles from the entrance to the park. My reason for asking is that late January of 2001 I had heard something very different for about a 3 week period. It was always late at night, around 3 am or so. I am not a person who gets to sleep easily so I was up listening to the radio. I would hear these screams, for the lack of a better word. It was so unusual I can't even describe them to you other than to say they were similar to the sounds horses would make as they fell down in those old western movies. I'd not hear them every night, but it was as though whatever it was, was traveling, because I could hear the sounds close to the house, then farther off.

So one night it was raining and cold. It must have been around 37 degrees outside. I was laying in the bed when I heard the screams, or calls, again. I turned off the radio and listened. Whatever it was, there was at least 2 of them. One came closer to the house than it had before. I had a light on in the basement and the light could be seen thru the basement windows so maybe "it" was drawn to that. At that time there weren't any security lights on this end of the road. I fumbled my way thru the dark to the backdoor and opened it up. I could hear these 2 things calling to one another.

My geese, who usually honk at anything and everything, were dead silent. My dogs were too, as were the other dogs in the neighborhood. My one little small dog had her tail between her legs and was shaking wanting in the house. I flipped on the backporch light and whatever "it" was it didn't like that. It let out a scream so loud I could feel the vibrato in it's voice. Needless to say, I changed my mind on getting dressed and sneaking out the front door with a $1.00 flashlight to get a glance at what was making these noises.

So when this thing did the loud call the 2nd one, who sounded like it was closer to the highway, called to it. Then went a series of calls which went back and forth until the one who was close to the house was back with the one closer to the road. The screams/calls were sorta like a grunting/squeal together. Like I say, I can't even describe them they were so different. Not like any owls I've ever heard around here before, and I've lived here in this house since the end of 1989, and in Allardt before that. Being close to the woods and its sounds is nothing new to me. I did hear the sounds once or twice more but they were never as close to the house again, then about mid February I heard them no more.

Last fall some people went across the road and built and have added flood lights and security lights that they leave on all night. I had hoped that maybe these things would have come back again this past January but they didn't. I figured it was because of the area being lit up at night.
</:OD>
Now, I didn't mention what I had heard to anyone but my husband and my daughter. The day after the one thing came close to the house, I went out into the woods behind the house to look for any signs of tracks. I didn't find them. I didn't see any in the drive either but take into account it was pouring the rain the night before, and part of the next day. Then I decided to tell a friend of mine who was convinced I heard wild boars. She still believes that to this day. My dad raised hogs for many years and I of course was around to help. I never heard hogs make these kinds of noises. I also never heard hogs call and answer back and forth to each other.

When I went looking for signs I didn't find any signs of the ground being tore up like boars do either. I know a man towards the park who says he hears boars out in the woods, but from what he said there's a pack of them and they are fighting. He even knows someone who killed one and barbeque'd it, so they are here, but just because they're here doesn't mean that's what I heard.

My neighbor who lives across the road was having problems with a weasel or possom getting into her chicken pen. She said that something was reaching thru the fence, grabbing the chickens, then killing them. I don't remember if she said they were intact, but she thought it was a weasel, coon, or possom. She's like myself in that her property is fenced in. At the time this happened only my front yard was unfenced. So, there were some dead chickens in the area at the time.

Also, most people here have dogs that aren't fenced in so the dog food would have been out and easily accessable to anything wanting to eat it. As for my animals here, none of them have ever been attacked. The day after I heard them I went out to feed the horses and the older mare came to the barn as usual. The younger one didn't want to come and I had to go and lead her up to be feed. I wonder if Bigfoot likes all grain Purina horse feed? Oh, and I must be sure to tell you that the area that I was hearing them in is a natural running path for deer. It's by a small stream and the deer's trail runs along the stream. A few days after this happened I got some apples and put them in a bucket, then suspended the bucket in a tree. I left it for about a week or so then checked, but the apples were still there. I then got a piece of old bark and put it on top of a fence post. I'd check periodically to make sure it was still there. It was a week or so later that I checked it and the bark was gone. It wasn't on the ground either. I have since put another piece on the same post and it's been there for quite some time now.

I must tell you of a report that my uncle told me and my family about in the mid-1970's. We lived in Smyrna at the time and came back here to visit my grandma and my uncle. My uncle was a hunter at the time, and loved to read the newspaper. He told us about an article that had been in the paper of a man who saw a Bigfoot I believe in Pickett State Park. This man was either a hunter or camper and saw one while out in the woods. My uncle looked for the paper but couldn't find it at the time. Now, I'm not sure if the paper he was looking for was the local paper at the time, or if it was one of the bigger papers, but I definately remember him telling of a sighting and of him looking for about an hour for the paper. Needless to say he didn't find it. I must have been around 8 at the time, as I'm 35 now. This was back when this county was mostly undeveloped, and the population was very small. Big South Fork wasn't around yet. There wasn't any cable tv and the only tv one could get here at the time was WBIR and WATE out of Knoxville, and that was if you could get the antenna positioned right. That to me is important because that means there wasn't a lot of outside media influences that could have influenced a person into telling of a bigfoot sighting. Not much chance of any histeria going on.
</:OD>
